River Oaks is nestled on the south side of the South Fork of Fort Lauderdale's New River, just east of I-95 and north of State Road 84. We are conveniently located near the heart of Fort Lauderdale, just five minutes from downtown, ten minutes from the beach, and ten minutes from the airport and Port Everglades. River Oaks is known to have the nicest tree canopy in Fort Lauderdale and many of our homes are beautifully landscaped with mostly native plants. We currently have about 1400 homes and we are growing to become more than 1500 homes.

The River Oaks Civic Association aims to improve our quality of life through civic activism on issues including neighborhood beautification, planning and zoning, emergency response preparedness, recycling and environmental encouragement, code enforcement, informative newsletter production, social events, crime prevention and development input. These avenues bring neighbors together in an effort to positively impact the area and foster a holistic sense of community.
