CERT has ongoing training activities and they are looking for CERTified individuals to take on leadership roles in CERT. Applications were given out at meeting. New courses were distributed in May Civic Packet. In Warren’s and Ted Fling’s absence, no further information was available at this time. The members of committee expressed considerable concern regarding followup and seeming lack of organization on the City’s part regarding CERT. It is suggested that this be brought up at Council board meeting in May. At this time, Warren arrived and gave further explanation of the CERT situation. He indicated that City is in process of selecting individuals for leadership roles. Dave Hebert is in charge of umbrella that includes CERT and emergency preparedness. Erin Mohers is the new hire and is assistant to Mr. Hebert and she is in charge of emergency preparedness. The City needs to designate who will be CERT liaison. City should have leadership positions picked by next week. Battalion and fire station leaders will be designated. It is expected that three CERT people will be designated for each neighborhood. There will be a Captain for each fire station who will work through the neighborhood leaders in the Captain’s zone. Each Captain should come to the neighborhood to meet with neighborhood leaders. 2.
