                                                            June 21, 2006

Members Present:  Marge Anderson, Bradford Cohen, Ted Fling, Mark Hartman (5:50), Elizabeth Hays, Joanne Smith (5:35), Warren Sturman(5:43), Dennis Ulmer (Vice-Chair)

Absent: Les Hollingsworth, Tim Smith (chair)

Guests:  Richard Mancuso, Erin Mohres

The meeting was called to order at 5:32pm by Vice Chair Ulmer.
 Minutes of May 17, 2006 were approved as emailed and distributed. 

Guest Erin Mohres:  She was hired about three months ago because CERT needed revitalization which is her job.  She is also recruiting Emergency Management (EM) of Fire Department to work with CERT.  The CERT chief reports to Fire Department EM Coordinator.  There are three battalion chiefs in the City with area captains under the battalion chief.  There is one area captain per fire station.  Everyone gets description of expectations.  Erin indicated she would send secretary CERT structure.  She indicated that next week they are expecting to name battalion chief.  Also by July meeting, we should have names of area captains.  City is trying to better distribute commodities with more efficient distribution system.  Erin indicated she would be coming out to July meeting as well.  
Report from Major Kiley:  a)  Fifteen officers have come away from training and have been dispersed into various groups.  b) The major was thanked for all the work and followup he has done for members of the committee.  c) Spoke about zero tolerance on unregistered bikes, needs to be more availability to get licensed.  d)  Crime Walk in Middle River Terrace is helped by the presence of police horses.  Major Kiley is scheduled to be at July meeting.

Joanne Smith left at 6:15.

New Business: none
Unfinished Business:
1.  Park Ranger:  Park Ranger issue was discussed again and again concern was expressed on  this issue.
Brad Cohen and Warren left at 6:30pm
2. Animal Resuscitation Equipment on Rescue Vehicles:  Dennis has had no response to his email.

Next meeting is Wednesday, July 19th at 5:30pm at 8th floor City Hall. 

Meeting adjourned at 6:38pm.
