The school is scheduled to be open to the public as a Cultural Arts Center in December of 2007. The renovation of the South Side School has been planned by many dedicated citizens, community leaders, government officials and staff to provide cultural art experiences for young and old together. When completed, the 11,100 sq. ft. building will anchor the south side of the City and house a variety of cultural arts programs and events and be a cultural destination for all generations our community.

The Friends of South Side School, a nonprofit organization is offering $700, $200 & $100 in awards for a rendering of the school. The adjacent Hardy Park, also scheduled to be restored, may be included along with various programs; Dance, Music, Painting, Ceramics and Culinary Arts.

Submissions of original art work, open to all media are due no later then February 16, 2007 at The Madfis Group, 1231 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale by 5:00 pm that afternoon.  Please put all contact information on the back of the entry, including name, address, phone and email address.
