Board Meeting Minutes
8TH FLOOR Commission Chamber
CALL TO ORDER by President Genia Ellis at 5:30 PM.
ROLL CALL BY President, all Board members present, except Dave Marshall excused for bereavement.
MEETING MINUTES of September 24, 2007 moved and accepted as corrected. (Attachment A).
ANNOUNCEMENTS/GUEST INTRODUCTIONS
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Agenda for December meeting will be strictly social, unless something comes up that needs discussion by the General Membership. The Holiday meeting can not be held at Broward Health Hospital as no room available on our date of December 11th, 2007. The Council will provide the turkey and ham, as well as ice, drinks, plates, etc. Members are asked to bring sides or desserts. The meeting will start at 7pm and the food will be served immediately, so please have all sides at that time.
2. Neighborhood Services on November 13, 2007 at 6-8pm. A food budget has been set at $500 and Tom Welch is recruiting volunteers to assist. Betty Shelley and Betty Hays will arrange for the food trays and ice. Tom Welch will arrange for plates, napkins, and drinks. Volunteers are also needed to set up sign in tables, etc. Be there 4:00 4:30. Board members are asked to wear Council white shirts.
3. January meeting agenda is open to issues and goals by Neighborhood Associations. It was noted that that the City Commission was expected to change their meeting date to January 8 and would therefore require that the Council move their meeting date. This date change will be announced at the November Neighborhood Services Night and at the December Meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. 1 The Ad Hoc Code reform committee will be meeting with City staff on October 24th to discuss the criteria to write the RFP for a consultant to review the proposed recommended changes and provide the methods require to implement them.
2. Membership Update list is needed by the November meeting showing members, representatives and alternates.
3. Crime and Public Safety Committee met and elected Ron Centamore as the Chair, Dennis Ulmer as the Vice Chair and Betty Hays as the recorder of minutes..
FOR THE GOOD OF THE COMMUNITY
1. The plaques for Sarah Horn and Audely Ebanks are set at Civic Peoples Park on Riverland Road and SR#7. On October 27the the Council will host a remembrance service for Council Members, Association Members and the families.
