Meeting Called to order at 5:40 PM
Sign In sheet indicates the following members present, Doug Sterner, Genia Ellis, Marilyn Mammano, Betty Shelley, Donna Mergenhagen, Drew Pickens, Shirley Smith, Juanita Gray, David Parker.  Members excused Tom Welch & David Marshall.  Member not heard from – Gabriel Ocasio-Davila.  Guest was Jorg Hruschka.
Review and acceptance of meeting minutes for meeting of August 24, 2009 deferred.  Minutes are not posted to the web at this time.*

Review and acceptance of Treasurer’s Report is deferred. 
ANNOUNCEMENTS/GUEST INTRODUCTIONS – N/A
NEW BUSINESS:
1. General Meeting Oct. 13, 2009 – Agenda will include the following speakers:
   Cheryene  Mullings, Broward Health-Community Services Coordinator 
 Heidi Davis, Pantry of Broward – Food Drive

OLD BUSINESS
1. Parks Report will be re-introduced by Doug Sterner for comments at the upcoming General Meeting.
2. Donna Mergenhagen indicated that the Centennial Committee might come to make a presentation to the Council once it completed its branding and would discuss sanctioned events.  This will be place on the October Board agenda for a further update.
3. The existing Certificate of Deposit matured today, September 28, 2009.  By a unanimous vote of the members present, the CD will be allowed to rollover, including interested earned during the year for an additional twelve months.  Treasurer Welch will follow up and complete any outstanding transaction necessary to effect this approval.*

FOR THE GOOD OF THE COMMUNITY
1. Upcoming CVC Project, October 10, 2009 – Joseph C. Carter Park beginning at 8 AM.  Planting, Mulching, trimming and painting are anticipated.
2. South Middle River Civic Association will host a fall Garden & Home Tour on October 24, 2009.  Carmen Smith would like a few minutes to talk about the event at the upcoming General Meeting.
3. Discussion centered on the Central Beach Master Plan and its anticipated results.
4. The Neighborhood Development Criteria will be present to the Planning & Zoning on November 4, 2009 at 6:30 PM.  This workshop is open to the public.  An additional meeting to report the results of the previous workshop is anticipated during this same week however no date has been set at the present time.
