About / Description:

Melrose Park is "The Caring Community" of just over 2,000 homes and 7,000 residents. Located at the western edge of the City of Fort Lauderdale, Melrose Park is bounded to the north by Broward Boulevard, to the south by Jackson Boulevard, to the east by 31st Avenue and to the west by State Route 7. Developed during the 1950’s and 60’s, it is easily recognizable on any map of the area by the unusual circular pattern of broad avenues. Annexed into the City of Fort Lauderdale in September 2002, the community has a strong and vibrant sense of identity and has taken an active role in the City. One of the more diverse neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale, Melrose Park retains many of its original residents along with many newer immigrants from around the Caribbean.

The Melrose Park Homeowner’s Association was formed in the early 1960’s and has retained an active and hardworking volunteer association. Over the past four years and continuing for the next 6-years, the Association has worked closely with Broward County during their multi-million dollar infrastructure improvement project in Melrose Park. Improvements include new sewer lines, new water distribution mains, and improved storm water drainage. Melrose Park has been referred to by local real estate agents as "The best housing value in Fort Lauderdale."
